Rubena Lifting Bags Succeed in the Africa Eco Race
The fifth annual Africa Eco Race started on December 27, 2012 in French Saint Cyprien and concluded after eleven phases on January 9, 2013 in Dakar, Senegal. 11 phases over a total distance of 5 796 km provided the opportunity to test a new generation of Rubena bellow spring suspension and lifting bags fitted on the Tatra truck. Our factory and test driver, Tomáš Tomeček with navigator Vojtěch Morávek, piloted this truck. The only competitors Tomáš Tomeček couldn’t outrace in his Tatra were Jean Louis Schlesser of France and Russian Schibalov, who won in the truck category. “This year was harder, faster and more broken up. This year we had to overcome sand dunes at the 1580 km section and I can’t imagine performing rescue and repair work without Rubena lifting bags. This makes achieving third place in the absolute ranking even more rewarding”, said Tomeček.
