Tomeček wins Africa Race for third time
Tomáš Tomeček and his TATRA 815 race special easily defended their supremacy in the Africa Eco Race 2014, which carries on the tradition of the Paris-Dakar rally.
The Rubena factory driver won the truck category for the third time in his career. Further testimony to the extraordinary nature of his performance is the fact that Tomeček had a lead of almost two hours over the second-placed Miklos Kovács from Hungary after 5 580 kilometres. His fifth place in the overall standings is also a huge success.
“The bellows of the Rubena pneumatic suspension performed fantastically and kept my truck going over the entire route from Morocco to Dakar in Senegal. Yet of course it would not have been possible this year without luck either,” the experienced Czech driver added.
